Her passion for cooking Moplah food developed when she was a child. Abida learnt her culinary skills from her maternal grandmother and has been cooking since she was in the fifth standard.Enterprising as she was, in 1984 Abida launched Hot Dot Foods, a culinary company of limited menus that packaged parathas and chicken biryanis and sold them locally. But she had to close down the company the very next year because she got married. In her husband Rasheed, fortunately, Abida married a man who was a major foodie who was forever trying food outside and then coming home to ask her to reproduce it. Rasheed's encouragement was what made Abida restart Hot Dot Foods, and today, she runs a factory from across her bungalow that employs eight people.
Cooking is Abida's passion, when she is not travelling around in connection with the textile business she has been running with her husband Rasheed for 25 years.
