INGREDIENTS
1/2 litre full cream milk
300 ml fresh cream
7 tbsp white sugar
250g jilebis
2 tbsp custard powder, dissolved in a little milk
2 tsp brown sugar
2 slices bread, ground into crumbs
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
METHOD
Boil milk and cream together with custard, white sugar and bread-crumbs. Cook until the custard is thick. Add vanilla essence. 

Line a greased oven proof dish with jilebis and pour the prepared custard over them. Sprinkle brown sugar and bake at a moderate temperature until evenly browned. 

Serve warm or chilled.
