INGREDIENTS
2 cups rice
1 cup har har dal (toovar)
a bit of saffron
GRIND TOGETHER
2 onions
2 green chilies
4 cloves garlic
1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 onion chopped
1 tsp garam masala
1 cup curds
1 tsp sugar
3 tbsp ghee
salt to taste
2 large onions sliced and browned in oil and strained, keep aside
METHOD
Boil the rice in hot water and when done strain and keep aside.

Cook the dal in 2 cups of water and pressure cook. Water should be absorbed.

Mix the cooked rice and dal. Add salt. Mix the saffron in a little water and add to the khichadi.

Now heat the ghee and fry onions for 1 minute. Add the paste and fry again for 2 - 3 minutes. Add the garam masala and fry for 1 minute.

Remove from fire and add curds, sugar and salt. Mix well.

ASSEMBLING :

Put 1 tablespoon of ghee in the bottom of a baking bowl.

Sprinkle a few fried onions and spread half the khichadi. Next spread the curd gravy. Finally spread the remaining khichadi. Sprinkle the balance fried onions. 

Cover and bake in a hot oven for 15 minutes.
